OPTIKAL consultancy services are led by Kiki, a qualified coach, optometrist leader and educator whose experience includes:

Growth in person-centred, optometry and optical dispensing practice. Independent and multiple, small and large.

Founding a pioneering optometry degree at University of Plymouth 2011-16 as part of a small team.

Innovating in education, using problem based learning to develop critical thinking and clinical case management.

Conception and creation of the Specsavers Pre-Reg Academy in 2019 for the evolving needs 1000s of graduates.

To gain the trust of the people we deal with, clinical qualifications are credentials that underpin first-point-of-contact eye health treatment services, glaucoma and medical retina case finding and management. During 2012 I also completed PgCert in Academic Practice, relevant to my role as a university lecturer.

MSc in Clinical Optometry
City, University of London
Studying part time whilst working as a clinician was energising and relevant to my evolving clinical work in ocular therapeutics, paediatric eye care, investigative techniques and binocular vision. Professor David Thomson supervised my research project on paediatric vision screening. A study with over 300 subjects aged 4-5 yrs old, evaluating a computer based screening protocol to identify and manage those with amblyogenic factors.
